You may submit a product in more than one category if applicable, and you may enter as many products as you like. Please remember that you’re submitting one individual product or service per entry and it’ll be judged on its individual merits; we’re not judging your business as a whole.

Oh, and these awards are all about substance, not style. If you’re submitting a food or drink product, please be aware that the judges will just be analysing the taste, visual appeal, texture, smell and innovative quality. They’ll be doing a blind taste test, so pretty packaging won’t be taken into account – it’s all in the taste and the innovation!

Great Taste Award – food

A food product that uses unusual ingredients and combinations to achieve a wonderful taste profile.

This will be a People’s Choice award – if your product is shortlisted by our judges, you’ll be invited to bring along samples to the awards night so our guests can vote for their favourite. 

Great Taste Award – drink

A drink product that uses unusual ingredients and combinations to achieve a wonderful taste profile.

This will be a People’s Choice award – if your product is shortlisted by our judges, you’ll be invited to bring along samples to the awards night so our guests can vote for their favourite. 

Clean Eating Award

A traditional factory-produced food or drink product that has been stripped of preservatives, additives or other ingredients and now offers a healthier, cleaner choice. 

Free-From Award 

A food or drink product from where traditional allergens or ingredients have been removed, but you’d never know it… We’re talking great taste without the nasties.

Smart Packaging Award 

Not pretty packaging, but product innovation to protect and transport our food and drink, whether for retail, takeaway or delivery. The judges will analyse ease-of-use, packaging design and materials innovation. 

Smart Kitchen Award

Smart gadgets, apps and technology to make cooking, preparing or analysing our food easy-peasy. The judges will analyse ease-of-use, product aesthetics and the relevance of the gadget or technology to our everyday life. 

Presenters’ Award

The weirdest food, drink, gadget or technology that we’ve had on The FoodTalk Show in the last year. The winner will be the product that we think is mad but incredibly clever at the same time. Sorry folks, there’s no way to enter this category because we'll be choosing these ourselves from those who have impressed us on the show.
