Clonakilty Blackpudding Co.
The 19th century recipe that’s still Ireland’s favourite
Authenticity is the watchword for this family-run company, which produces blackpudding made from a recipe that originated in the West Cork town of Clonakilty in the 1880s. The Twomey family took over the butcher’s shop – along with the top secret recipe – in the 1980s and have since added whitepudding, sausages, rashers and bacon to the range. Unlike most, Clonakilty blackpuddings are made from beef products instead of pork, giving it a uniquely delicious flavour that has withstood the test of time.
