Mitch has become one of the most respected and knowledgeable seafood people in the country and an acclaimed restaurateur, chef and author in the process. His Seahorse restaurant has won the Observer’s ‘Best UK Restaurant’ gong; his Rockfish seafood restaurant and takeaway chain has twice claimed ‘Best Independent Restaurant’ at the National Fish & Chip Awards, also winning the Good Catch sustainability award twice. Of his books, one of them – Fresh – scooped ‘Best Fish Book’ at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards.
So as you can imagine Sue and Jane are truly honoured to have the legendary Mitch Tonks, restaurateur, food writer, TV star and expert on all things fish in the studio this week. Sue whips out her 15 year old copy of Mitch's book and explains why she has used it nearly every week since she bought it. Mitch explains his upbringing and why the sea and fish are simply in his blood. He also introduces the new concept of RockFish for home cooks.
