Waste Knot has set out to tackle food waste by ‘rescuing’ surplus crops grown by farmers and connecting them with chefs who want to buy their perfectly good food. Sometimes farms end up with a surplus of fruit or vegetables, or they cannot sell it through the usual channels because it doesn’t meet appearance standards. However, there are lots of chefs out there who can put it to good use, so Waste Knot helps find that route to market.
