Japanese without the sushi

With a menu full of dishes inspired by Japanese heritage, it’s a surprise to find no sushi in this restaurant’s repertoire. Founded by MasterChef finalist Andrew Kojima – who is half Japanese, half British – Koj Cheltenham aims to showcase the depth and breadth of flavour that Japanese food can offer, beyond the familiarity of sushi. A real treat for Japanophiles, the Monkey Bandana Bar upstairs offers an array of Japanese beverages and cocktails, made with the restaurant’s very own gin.
